The Italian Government and Foreign Ministry have appreciated the activities held by Vietnam in Italy to mark the 40th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties, and want to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in many fields in the coming time, an Italian diplomat has said.

Andre Perugini, Principal Director for the Countries of Asia and Oceania under the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered that appreciation at a get-together held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy on September 12 as part of activities to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

Meanwhile, Mayor of Torino city Piero Fassino said he hopes that Torino’s investors will expand their presence in Vietnam in the coming time as it is a new promising market.

He also expressed his hope to soon visit Vietnam to foster the two sides’ cooperation, and pledged to create all favourable conditions for Vietnam to organise cultural and economic events in the city.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long emphasised that the fine friendship between Vietnam and Italy is seeing many opportunities to further develop, especially after the two nations lifted their bilateral ties to strategic partnership.-VNA
