Japan aids Vietnam’s education, health

Japan will offer 853,200 USD in non-refundable aid to 8 education-health projects in Vietnam.
The Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City on December 17signed a contract to provide non-refundable aid worth 853,200 USD foreight education and health projects in Vietnam.

Under the contract, the sum will be used for the construction of fourprimary schools in Binh Thuan, Lam Dong and Tra Vinh provinces, and theprovision of medical equipment to three hospitals in Hau Giang, DongThap and Binh Phuoc provinces.

A project to build awater supply system in Vinh Binh commune, Vinh Hung district, Long Anprovince will also benefit from the aid.

Addressingthe signing ceremony, Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City HidaHarumitsu said he hopes that the aid recipients will follow thecontract’s provisions and take measures to well manage and preserve thefacilities and equipment so that they can prove their long-termefficiency.-VNA

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year

The province's delegation of National Assembly deputies, in coordination with relevant agencies, presented 600 gifts across 11 communes, including 100 in Tap Son commune and 50 in each of the others. The programme, worth 300 million VND (11,300 USD), was funded by Agribank’s Vinh Long branch.
