The Japanese Government will provide 117,000 USD in non-refundable aid to fund the construction of a new primary school in the central province of Quang Nam.

An agreement to this effect was signed at a ceremony in Hanoi on October 8.

Under the agreement, the money will be used to build a new school with eight classrooms, to replace the severely dilapidated Nguyen Thi Minh Khai primary school in Tra Doc commune, Bac Tra My district.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Charge d’Affaires at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam Hideo Suzuki said he hoped that the new school will enable the local pupils to study in a much better environment that is more conducive to learning.

It will also help enhance the friendship and mutual understanding that both countries share, he added.-VNA
