Japan gives funds for health, education

The Japanese Government has provided more than 330,000 USD to improve health care and schooling in northern mountainous Lai Chau province's Tam Duong district.

The funds will be used to either build or expand two health care centres and one secondary school.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yasuaki Tanizaki and Tam Duongdistrict's People's Committee chairman Nguyen Tien Tang signed anagreement on the non-refundable aid in Hanoi on Mar 16.

The health centres will meet demand for 7,000 poor people in twocommunes of Ban Giang and Khun Ha, while nearly 300 secondary studentsin Ban Giang commune will benefit when their school is expanded.-VNA
