Japan will grant about 91,000 USD in non-refundable aid to build a primary school in An Vien commune, Tien Lu district in the northern province of Hung Yen.
An agreement to this effect was signed on August 4 between Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba and chairman of the An Vien commune People’s Committee Do Ngoc Thanh in Hanoi.
At the signing ceremony, Ambassador Sakaba expressed his belief that the quality of primary education in the commune would improve through this project which also contributes to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.
An Vien lies in the suburban area of Hung Yen province with 75 percent of the population living on farming and its rate of poor households being 19 percent./.
