The Japanese Government will provide 120,000 USD in non-refundable aid for a project to expand a vocational training centre in the northern province of Bac Giang.

An agreement to this effect was signed at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 31.

The centre, located in Viet Tien commune, Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province is for people with disabilities, orphans and Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin victims in the area.

The money will fund the building of classrooms and the purchase of equipment to create a better environment for students, said Vu Thi Tra Giang, the centre’s director.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Japanese Envoy to Vietnam Hideo Suzuki stressed that people with disabilities, orphans and AO/dioxin victims are underprivileged and need care and assistance from the whole society.

He also expressed his belief that the project, once completed, will create more spacious facilities for students and enhance the friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.-VNA
