The Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) will help Vietnam manage and reduce landslide disaster in the transport sector through a technical project signed in Hanoi on Nov. 7 between JICA and the transport ministry.
The five-year project is expected to help reduce the effects of landslides through the development of new risk assessment technologies in monitoring and forecasting ground movements as well as enhancing early warning system and disaster preparedness.
The project's study will be done in the selected sites of the areas along Ho Chi Minh Highway, National Highway 1 and north-south railway. /.
