Japan will invest 61 billion VND (around 3.9 million USD) in three social projects in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai.

The information was released by Japanese ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba during his working trip to the province on December 9-10.

The projects aim to improve nutrition conditions for local children, rural road and irrigation system.

During the trip, the ambassador and his delegation visited an industrial zone in the southern part of the province seeking investment opportunities for the future.

On behalf of local officials, provincial party committee secretary Hoang Xuan Loc expressed his hope that Japan will invest more in the local infrastructure in the time to come./.
