The Japanese government has pledged to provide 156,000 USD to build a functional rehabilitation centre for disabled children and a rural road for the northern provinces of Ha Giang and Phu Tho, respectively.

The non-refundable aid contracts to this effect were signed in Hanoi on June 15.

A sum of about 67,000 USD will be channeled through the National Fund for Vietnamese Children to Ha Giang province for a two-storey building with six rooms, contributing to improving capacity of the provincial functional rehabilitation centre for disabled children.

Established in 1995, the centre is designed to provide care for about 3,000 disabled children in Ha Giang province.

The remaining aid worth about 89,000 USD will come to the project to upgrade a rural road in Dong Son commune of Phu Tho province’s Tan Son district where most locals are ethnic people.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Japanese Ambassador Mitsuo Sakaba expressed his belief that the projects would help disabled children in Ha Giang province integrate into the society and improve traffic in Dong Son commune, contributing to promoting the friendship between Japan and Vietnam./.
