Japanese charity project begins in Ha Giang

The inauguration ceremony for a rehabilitation centre for disabled children in the northern province of Ha Giang was held on May 24 in Ha Giang city.

The ceremony was jointly organised by the Japanese Government, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) and Ha Giang authorities.

Covering an area of 350 sq.m., the two-storey centre is funded by the Japanese Government through refundable aid worth 1.5 billion VND.

It aims to provide disabled children in Ha Giang province with a spacious school and good facilities for living and studying, thus helping them raise their self-confidence in integrating into the community.

Addressing the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador Yasuaki Tanizaki expressed his wish to continue to cooperate with Vietnam and Ha Giang province in charitable activities.

Mac Thi Lien, Vice Director of the Ha Giang Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs thanked the Japanese government for the finance assistance, saying that the Department’s director board would direct the provincial disabled childrens’ relief centre to manage and effectively use the centre for proper purposes./.
