An exhibition on Japanese culture will be held at the Vietnam National Museum of History early next year as part of activities to mark the 40 th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

Agreements to this effect were signed by the Vietnam National Museum of History and Japan’s Kyushu National Museum in Hanoi on November 11.

The exhibition will open to visitors from January 16 to March 9, 2014. It will introduce Japan’s history and culture through art works and archaeological objects.

A representative from the Japanese museum said the event is also a special activity under the framework of the Amity and Cooperation Agreement in Asia.

Various cultural events are taking place in Vietnam as part of activities to celebrate the 40 th anniversary of the Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

They include a Japanese film festival which will run in Hanoi, the central city of Da Nang and the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from November 11 to December 15 and an exhibition of lacquer paintings by Japanese artist Saeko Ando that opened in Hanoi on November 9.

Earlier, the annual Japan-Vietnam Culture Exchange Festival was held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 6.-VNA
