Japanese firm active with school building project

Japan ’s Aeon Group on Mar. 27 inaugurated the Quang Loi Primary School 2 in Quang Dien district of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue .

The work is part of a cooperative project to build30 schools and boost afforestation between Thua Thien Hue province andAeon Group.

The 3 billion VND two storey schoolconsists of eight class rooms and two teachers’ rooms, capable ofproviding as many as 250 local pupils with comfortable schoolingconditions, particularly in the flood season.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to VietnamTanizaki Yasuaki said with aids from the Japanese Government, privatecompanies, including Aeon Group, are joining in helping Vietnam .

The project has been launched by Aeon Group since 2010 with a totalnon-refundable aid of 3 million USD. Since then, 10 primary schools havebeen constructed and the other 20 schools are scheduled to be completedbetween 2012 and 2013.
