President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong on May 17 presented the “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” insignia to Sato Hideaki, Senior Advisor to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) rep. office in Japan.

The Japanese advisor received the reward for his effective contributions to boosting the economic-trade, investment, cultural and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Japan over the past 20 years.

With the VCCI' proposal, Sato established a VCCI representative office in Japan in 1991 and has worked as the office’s senior advisor since then. He has also made active and effective contributions to the success of visits by the two countries’ high-ranking leaders.

Ten years ago, when Japan began to invest strongly in Vietnam 10, Sato and the Japan Economic Association organised a Vietnam-Japan economic conference in Vietnam, creating opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to attend seminars and exhibitions in Japan and set up cooperative ties with Japanese partners.

He has also helped many Vietnamese localities to introduce their potentials in Japan as well as organised a number of exchanges between the two countries’ people.

Speaking at the award handover ceremony, the Japanese advisor expressed his wish that large cooperative projects between Vietnam and Japan , including the Hoa Lac hi-tech park, North-South expressway and express railway will be well completed.

He affirmed that he will make more contributions to consolidating and developing the friendship and cooperation between the Japanese and Vietnamese people./.
