Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has agreed to provide technical assistance to Vietnam to strengthen an academy’s teaching staff capacity in politics and public administration.

The agreement to this effect was signed on March 13 in Hanoi between JICA and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration.

Under the deal, a two-component project will be carried out in three years, starting from May 2013, to help the academy train its staff and design long-term master courses on public administration with the support from Tokyo and Waseda Universities .

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Ta Ngoc Tan, Director of the academy, highly valued JICA’s assistance and cooperation commitments in human resources training which he said will make practical contributions to enhancing the competence of Vietnam ’s public administrators.

JICA Chief Representative Tsuno Motonori said that intensifying capacity of Vietnamese administrators and staff is an important priority in JICA’s supporting strategies towards Vietnam.-VNA
