A job fair opened in the central province of Quang Nam on September 25, offering a chance for local women to explore vocational training and employment opportunities in Korean enterprises.

The fair, organised by the province’s Centre for Job Placement, drew the participation of around 7,000 local women and local businesses that are seeking to recruit a large number of technically-skilled female workers.

The event is part of a programme to scale up the “centre for building vocational training capacities for Vietnamese women” project, funded by the Republic of Korea’s International Families and Women Fund.

Quang Nam is one of three localities selected to implement the project, aiming to enhance employability and increase incomes for Vietnamese women.

On the same day, another job fair was organised by local vocational training institutions in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, attracting nearly 1,000 senior high school students and recent graduates.

As many as 3,800 vacancies were advertised by 150 enterprises, Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Deputy Director of the Centre for Job Services in Can Tho City, said.

Students attending the fair were advised on how to research job vacancies and adapt their studies to the requirements of the job market.-VNA
