A brewery, a seafood processing company and an industrial park in southern Khanh Hoa province have been ordered to stop polluting the environment and undertake immediate clean-up measures.

The San Miguel Vietnam Brewers Co, Sao Dai Hung Seafood Processing Co Ltd and Suoi Dau Industrial Park (IP) are located in the province’s Cam Lam district. Inspectors from Khanh Hoa provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment discovered the units are violating several regulations on environmental protection.

San Miguel Vietnam is not treating its waste water adequately, while Sao Dai Hung is causing air pollution by not installing a deodorisation system.

The Suoi Dau IP’s unit that undertakes treatment of waste water for more than 10 factories located in the area is violating regulations on waste management, transportation and treatment.

The IP’s rubbish dump is also causing pollution in adjacent residential areas.

Provincial authorities are considering the penalties to be imposed on the offending firms for each violation they have caused./.VNS
