From now to 2020, the locality will focus on promoting socio-economic development, building new-style rural areas and reducing poverty. It will also work to enhance cultural standards for local people as well as foster the development of the workforce.

Kien Giang has planned to arrange dwelling land and jobs for 2,740 households from ethnic minority groups in the 2013-2015 period.
