The southern province of Kien Giang on July 26 held a memorial ceremony for 85 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists whose remains were found and brought home from Cambodia.
The remains, together with two sets found in Chau Thanh district were buried at the war martyrs’ cemetery in Hon Dat district.
The remains were brought home by a search team of the Kien Giang provincial Military Command during the 2012-2013 dry season.
Since 2001, the search team has found and repatriated 1,748 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists from four Cambodian provinces of Kep, Kampot, Sihanouk and Koh Kong.-VNA
