As many as 126 children who are third-generation Korean-Vietnamese residing in five central provinces of Vietnam, have been given scholarships to assist in their study.

The scholarships, funded by Dai Nhat Travel Trading Manufacturing Co., Ltd in Ho Chi Minh City , were presented at a ceremony in Phu Yen province on Nov. 28.

The recipients come from two Central Highlands provinces of Dak Lak and Gia Lai and three southern central provinces of Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen.

Each university student was awarded 4 million VND (about 190 USD) for a semester. Meanwhile, each school child received a monthly grant equivalent to 20 USD.

Dai Nhat company started this scholarship fund in 2005, which helps between 100 to 200 students each year. The fund is maintained through donations from benefactors from the US , the Republic of Korea and Australia.-VNA
