Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah will pay an official visit to Vietnam from May 5-7.

The visit will be made at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

This year marks an important milestone in the relationship between Vietnam and Kuwait as the two nations are celebrating 40 years of their diplomatic ties.

In 1976, right after the reunification of Vietnam, Kuwait was among the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with Vietnam and thirty years later, it was the very first state among the GCC countries to open its embassy in Hanoi and its consulate general in Ho Chi Minh City in 2007.

Since then, the relationship has been promoted strongly between the two governments and their people on the basis of mutual respect.-VNA
