Lai Chau culture and tourism week slated for November

A culture and tourism week is scheduled to take place in Phong Tho and Tam Duong districts in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau this November, with the event set to feature a wide range of exciting activities.

Hanoi (VNA) - A culture and tourism week is scheduled to take place inPhong Tho and Tam Duong districts in the northern mountainous province of LaiChau this November, with the event set to feature a wide range of excitingactivities, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) reported.

Local artists will be given the opportunity of participating in a unique streetfestival where they will dress up in ethnic costumes, perform traditional folksongs and dances, in addition to playing local musical instruments.

A special corner dedicated to food and crafts will also be set up, whilstrituals of ethnic groups will be re-enacted as a means of helping visitors tolearn more about local cultural values.

Furthermore, visitors will have the chance to play folk games and experiencesampling local specialties throughout the week.

Moreover, Tam Duong district will also host the Putaleng paragliding tourney2021 and a cycling tournament covering distances such as 15km, 20km, and 25kmwhich will take place in Lai Chau city.

All COVID-19 prevention and control measures will be applied throughout theweek to curb the potential spread of the pandemic in the community, accordingto the organisers./.
