Vietnam’s northern province of Lao Cai is keen on beefing up cooperation with German partners, particularly in economics, tourism, workforce, and environment technology, a local official has said.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Doan Van Huong headed a provincial delegation to visit Germany to seek opportunities for cooperation from March 2-11.

During the visit, Huong worked with representatives from German organisations and businesses in Berlin and major cities.

At a working session with Vietnamese Embassy in Germany, Huong informed Ambassador Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh of Lao Cai’s social-economic development plus culture and tourism.

The Ambassador said the Embassy will facilitate and act as a bridge for the affiliation between Lao Cai and German partners.

Situated in the northwestern part of Vietnam, Lao Cai is blessed with abundant scenic spots.

Home to about 27 ethnic minority groups, Lao Cai is also a treasure chest of biodiversity, with many special cultural and historical sites.-VNA
