A delegation from the Lao National Assembly headed by Khampheuy Panemalaythong, advisor to the National Assembly Chairman, had a working session with Nguon Nhel, the Second Vice-President of the Cambodian National Assembly, in Phnom Penh on January 12.

The meeting is a part of the Lao lawmakers’ ongoing trip to Cambodia in a bid to further promote cooperation and exchange experiences between the two legislative bodies.

Panemalaythong said the trip is intended to not only enhance the friendship and cooperation between the two parliaments but also offer an opportunity for Laos to learn from Cambodia’s experience in governance and administration, especially personnel training.

For his part, Nguon Nhel highly spoke of the visit, noting that once the relationship is strengthened, it will ultimately benefit the people of both nations and foster regional peace and stability.

He was also delighted by the development of the two countries’ collaboration in trade, tourism, and culture in recent years and urged Lao to continue to boost its investment in Cambodia.-VNA
