Lao leaders appreciate great sacrifice by Vietnam's volunteer experts, soldiers

Vientiane (VNA) – General Secretary of the Lao
People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and Chairman
of the country’s National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane on November 7 separately received
a delegation of Vietnam’s former volunteer experts and soldiers who used to
perform duties in Laos.At the meetings in Vientiane, Maj. Gen. Huynh Dac Huong, head of the liaison board of Vietnam’s former volunteer experts and soldiers in Laos, said the special relations between Vietnam and Laos have been founded, treasured, and nurtured by generations of the two countries’ soldiers and people, and truly become a priceless asset of the two peoples and also unique relations in the world’s history.
Welcoming the Vietnamese delegation, the two Lao leaders said the visit is highly meaningful amid numerous activities being held in both countries to mark the Laos - Vietnam, Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022.

On behalf of the Lao Party, Government and people, they appreciated
the Vietnamese Party, State and people’s valuable assistance, including the
great sacrifice by Vietnam’s volunteer soldiers and experts, which not only
helped their revolution obtain complete independence on December 2, 1975 but
also contributed to the two countries’ great friendship, special solidarity and
comprehensive cooperation. The hosts affirmed that they will join other Lao leaders to boost educating people, especially the young, on the special bilateral ties so that the relations will stay sustainable forever./.
