Both Lao Prime Minister Thongsinh Thammavong and Chairwoman of the National Assembly Pani Zathotou have pledged to provide favourable conditions for cooperation between Vietnamese and Lao auditing agencies.

The Lao leaders made the commitment while receiving Vietnamese State Auditor General Nguyen Huu Van in Vientiane on February 19. Van is leading a delegation to Laos from February 18-22.

Thanking the support from the State Audit of Vietnam to Laos over the past years, the hosts described their work together as meaningful as both countries are undertaking national construction and development and so have many projects in need of close supervision.

At the meetings, Van briefed the Lao leaders on outcomes of talks between the Vietnamese and Lao state audit agencies.

He expressed his pleasure with their fruitful connection over the past year, including the exchange of high-ranking delegations, professional training and experience sharing.

The two sides will continue their collaboration, focusing on the organisation of auditing activities, devising auditing plans and improving personnel management, he said.-VNA
