Lao media highlights Vietnamese top leader’s visit
Lao news outlets have devoted their front pages to articles praising the success of the official friendship visit to Laos by Party General Secretary and President of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.

They include Pasaxon – the mouthpiece of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), Pathetlao of the Lao News Agency, Vientiane Times, and Laophatthana.
The articles underlined the talks between the two Party and State leaders, during which they exchanged notes on cooperation orientations to bring the bilateral special relations to a new height, together with the outcomes of the meetings between Trong, Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, and Chairwoman of the National Assembly Pany Yathotou.
On February 26, Pathetlao published the full text of the joint statement between the two countries, as well as an interview to the Lao media by Sounthone Xayachak, head of the LPRP Central Committee’s External Relations Commission, on the significant outcomes of the visit for the bilateral friendship.
Xayachak stated that Trong’s visit demonstrates the time-honoured friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples.
Thailand’s The Nation online and printed versions also ran articles on the occasion of Trong’s official friendship visit to Laos and State visit to Cambodia from February 25-26. –VNA
