Lao media have ran articles and photos highlighting fine relations between Laos and Vietnam on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18).

The Pasaxon, the newspaper of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, praised prominent achievements in the two countries’ friendship and comprehensive cooperation while reviewing outcomes of the bilateral connection in politics, diplomacy, defence-security, economics, culture, education-training and human resources development.

Others press agencies such as Lao Nation, Vientiane May and Vientiane Times newspapers, Laos News Agency (KPL), and the Lao National Television have also underlined the fruit of the bilateral cooperation in many fields as well as the traditional friendship and special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Last year, two-way trade between the two countries hit a record high of 1 billion USD. The figure reached 766 million USD in the first half of 2014, up 51 percent from a year earlier.

So far this year, Vietnam has invested about 5 billion USD in Laos, ranking third among foreign investors in the landlocked country, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.-VNA
