Laos and Vietnam are neighbouring countries on the Indochinese Peninsula which share a time-honoured close friendship and live together in peace, solidarity and mutual assistance, it said.

The paper affirmed that the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and two peoples founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Souphanouvong and fostered by successive generations of the two countries’ leaders and people have seen a sustainable development.

The two nations have always stood side by side and given each other wholehearted and effective support and assistance during the revolutionary struggles in the past as well as in the current national construction and defence.

The Lao people wish PM Dung’s visit a success, helping tighten the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States and people of Laos and Vietnam, and bring the relationship to a new height in the interests of the two countries’ people as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world./.
