Lao province supports Hai Duong’s COVID-19 response efforts

A delegation from the Lao province of Vientiane on June 14 handed over 100 million LAK (10,577 USD) to the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos to assist the fight against COVID-19 in northern Hai Duong province of Vietnam.

Vientiane (VNA) – A delegation from the Lao province of Vientiane on June 14 handed over 100 million LAK (10,577 USD) to the VietnameseEmbassy in Laos to assist the fight against COVID-19 in northern Hai Duong province of Vietnam.

At the handover ceremony, the embassy's Envoy Trinh Thi Tam expressedher gratitude for the Vientiane administration and people's assistance and pledged to soon deliver the fund to HaiDuong.

Lauding the twin relations between Hai Duong andVientiane in the past time, Tam hoped that the sides will further fortify theircooperation and exchange information and experience regarding matters ofcommon interest.

The diplomat noted many public agencies and businesses ofLaos have come to the embassy to present money and medical supplies in supportof the Government and people of Vietnam during the nation’s response to the fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreaks.

Such actions are evidence of great friendship,special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, sheaffirmed.

Vientiane province's Governor Thongsavan Vongsamphan said although thesum is not big, it reflects the Vientiane administration and people’s wishto share with Hai Duong’s difficulties.

The official hoped the Vietnamese province will soonovercome the challenges caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, stabilise people'slives, and develop its economy./.
