Lao, Vietnamese companies send goods to Vientiane

Around 200 enterprises from Vietnam and Laos took place in the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair which opened at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Laos’ capital city of Vientiane on July 2.
Around 200 enterprises from Vietnam and Laos took place in theVietnam-Laos Trade Fair which opened at the International Convention andExhibition Centre in Laos’ capital city of Vientiane on July 2.

Vietnamese goods on display at the fair include pharmaceutical andmedical equipment, industrial machinery, construction and buildingmaterials, agro-forestry-fisheries products, processed foods, garmentsand textiles, handicrafts, interior furniture, plastics and consumergoods.

According to Deputy Minister of Industryand Trade Nguyen Cam Tu, the fair is a good opportunity to promotebrands, boost exports and expand their shares in Laos and the northeastregion of Thailand.

Meanwhile, Lao DeputyMinister of Industry and Trade Somchith Inthamith considered the fair aneffective bridge for trade organisations, producers and investors fromthe two countries to exchange opinions, transfer technology or formjoint ventures.

Ho Chi Minh City targets next-generation, high-value FDI

The southern economic hub attracted nearly 3.3 billion USD in FDI during the first four months of 2026, marking a sharp year-on-year increase of 227.1%. The total included 539 newly licensed projects with registered capital exceeding 791.8 million USD and 58 existing projects adding 259.3 million USD in supplementary investment.

Vietnam accelerates drive to master EV technologies

Chairman of the Vietnam National Industry-Energy Group (Petrovietnam) Le Ngoc Son said Vietnam’s energy demand will continue rising sharply, creating enormous pressure on power generation investment.
