Lao President Chumaly Saynhasone and Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko are to witness the signing of numerous important documents on the two countries’ wide-ranging cooperation on July 1.

According to Russia ’s Itar-Tass news agency, the signing ceremony is part of the State visit to Belarus by the Lao President, starting from July 1-3.

Arrived in Minsk on June 30, President Saynhasone is scheduled to hold talks with President Lukashenko and meet with government and parliament leaders.

He will also visit several industrial and agricultural enterprises and historical-cultural sites as well as participate in the Belarus – Laos Business Forum.

The visit is aimed at bringing the two countries’ relations to a new height following the Laos visit by the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in early June.

Laos and Belarus established diplomatic relations in 1994. Their two-way trade reached 11 million USD last year.-VNA
