Top diplomats from Laos and Cuba have pledged mutual support at international forums and stronger cooperation in healthcare, education and sports.

The pledges were made by Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodigez Perrila during their talks in Vientiane, Laos, on December 3.

The talks, held upon the arrival of the Cuban delegation for a two-day visit to Laos , heard the two top diplomats’ pledge to boost traditional friendship.

The host reiterated its unswerving policy of standing by the Cuban people in their effort to lift the US’s 50-year economic embargo.

During their stay, the Cuban delegates were received by the General Seretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and State President, Choumaly Sayasone, and Prime Minister Buasone Bouphavanh/.
