A ceremony to award Lao orders to officials from the Vietnamese Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs took place in Hanoi on August 14.
At the ceremony, the President of the Lao Front for National Construction’s (LFNC) Central Committee Phanduongchit Vongsa presented the Issara Order, second class, to former head of the Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyen The Doanh and his deputy Nguyen Thanh Xuan.
He also granted the Issara Order, third class, to deputy head of the Committee for Religious Affairs Pham Huy Tho, and the Labour Order, first and second class, to the Department of International Cooperation and the Centre for Religious Affairs Training and Research, respectively.
On the occasion, the LFNC Central Committee also presented insignia marking the 60 th anniversary of LFNC to 20 officials from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and head of the Committee for Religious Affairs Pham Dung said that the committee always attaches importance to strengthening ties with the LFNC, including regular exchanges of delegations and hosting training courses for LFNC officials.
Cooperation in religious affairs between the Committee for Religious Affairs and LFNC has helped enhance the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between both Parties and nations, said Dung.
Phanduongchit Vongsa said he hoped that both sides will step up the sharing of experiences on ethnic affairs and expand bilateral cooperation in the future.-VNA
