Laos, Japan agree to cooperate on many areas

In a meeting in Vientiane , Minister Okada and Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh agreed to cooperate on measures to curb global warming and efforts to reform the United Nations.

Minister Okada assured the Lao PM that Japan will continue to provide support to Laos in addressing poverty and proceeding with economic development.

PM Bouasone Bouphavanh reiterated his country's support for Japan 's bid to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

In a separate meeting, Okada and Laotian President Choummaly Sayasone affirmed the two governments will make preparations to promote Japanese private investment in Laos./.
