Laos prepares for Asia-Europe parliamentary meeting
A meeting chaired by Lao National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotu was
held on Mar. 5 to discuss preparations for the seventh Asia-Europe
Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP 7) running from Oct. 3-4 in
Vientiane.

Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP 7) running from Oct. 3-4 in
Vientiane.
At the meeting, Pany Yathotu asked sub-committees and other related departments to hasten preparatory works and promptly complete all plans of actions for ASEP 7. She also called for financial contributions from sponsors.
Issues relating to ASEP 7 such as designing banners, a website and preparing meeting contents were also tabled.
With the theme, “The Role of Parliaments in Enhancing Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and Europe”, ASEP 7 is an important event on the threshold of the ninth Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM 9), which is expected to attract 46 delegations from Europe and Asia./.
