Laos approved a construction project in preparation for hosting the 9 th Asia - Europe Meeting (ASEM), scheduled to occur in Nov. 2012.
The project, covering an area of 25 hectares, is located to the South of Don Chan Palace Hotel in the capital city of Vientiane .
Under the plan, a new urban area with supermarkets, hotels and appartment buildings will be constructed. Once operational, the project will meet the demands of tourism and provide a new entertainment area for the city.
Additionally, 50 guest houses and a five-star hotel will be built to serve foreign heads of state attending the ASEM summit./.
