Laos presents National Gold Order to Hanoi

“The distinction presented to Hanoi on the city’s millennium anniversary indicates the Lao Party, State and people’s gratitude and sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State and people in general and the capital city of Hanoi in particular for their immense contributions to Laos’ revolutionary cause,” the Lao leader said.

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao said the National Gold Order is the noble award and a great source of encouragement that the Party, State and people of Laos have given to Hanoi and it reflects the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Thao affirmed that the Vietnam-Laos friendship and solidarity fostered by the late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomvihane and various generations of the two countries have a wonderful vitality and have been growing unceasingly to reach a new height.

The same day, Bounnhang Volachit, who led a delegation of Lao Party and State to Hanoi ’s 1,000 th founding anniversary, was received by State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Later, the Lao guests were feted by Truong Tan Sang, a politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee./.
