The meeting aimed to help the youth better understand the nation’s history and fraternal alliance with Vietnam, which was fostered in the very first years of the war against the French colonial rule.
The March 21 battle in Thakhek commune – one of the biggest fights against the country’s French rulers - was also highlighted in Lao media, including Pathet Lao and the Vientiane Times.
Articles celebrated the solidarity and coordination between the Vietnamese and Lao revolutionary forces, and praised the large sacrifices made by Vietnamese people residing in the neighbouring country.-VNA
