Vientiane (VNA) – The Health Ministry of Laos on June 28 confirmed 26 new COVID-19 infections, including 14 local-transmitted cases, over the past 24 hours.

Among the new domestic cases, seven were found in Vientiane capital city, four in Vientiane province, two in Luang Namtha and one in Xayaboury,

The ministry said the sudden increase in the number of new cases shows that the pandemic is still at risk of outbreak in the community. Meanwhile, neighbouring countries have also witnessed complicated developments of the pandemic in the recent times.

It urges people to strictly comply with regulations on disease prevention and control, and quickly notify the authorities if detecting suspected illegal entry.
