The Laotian Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Boungan Sapuvong, has confirmed the success of a recent contest on composing songs about Vietnam’s late President Ho Chi Minh, saying that Laotian composers write their songs from the heart.
The Head of the Laos Performing Art Department, Sayavad Singnamvong, said at a meeting on June 10 that the contest has received a warm response from composers across the country, with songs about his life from childhood to the day he left Vietnam to find a way to free the country.
The two-month contest received 51 entries by 37 composers, who focused on the thrift, honesty, selflessness, humanitarianism, patriotism and internationalism of late Vietnamese President, who they also called “our beloved Uncle Ho”.
Vietnamese Ambassador Ta Minh Chau expressed his thanks to the Laotian composers for their warm feelings towards President Ho and there beautiful and touching songs.
“Your songs about Uncle Ho will be popular in both Vietnam and Laos . They are a valuable product of the great friendship and special solidarity between the two countries, which will contribute to our relationship and building up trust in the younger generations,” the diplomat concluded./.
