The Vietnam’s Guinness Books of Record Centre on September 22 recognised the lantern made in the central province of Thanh Hoa as the largest of its kind in the country.

The lantern (an open structure of light material set upon a roof, to give light and air to the interior) was made by the provincial Centre for Culture and Information and Hoan Cau Ltd company on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn festival.

Measuring 10.5 metres in height and 9.6 metres in diameter, the steel and canvas framed lantern was finished within one month by over 70 workers./.
