The event is one of a series of activities to mark the birthday of the late President Ho Chi Minh, founder and first president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The 4x6 metre-sized portrait will be placed on an 1m-high steel pedestal one metre tall and is expected to be one of the highlights of the upcoming 2015 Buddha’s Birthday Festival.
It is hoped that the portrait, which is to be recognised as the biggest lotus-made picture in the world by the Guinness World Records, will draw tourists to Nghe An.-VNA
