The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) on April 16 co-organised a conference on the perfection of institutions on law enforcement monitoring in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, MoJ Deputy Minister Le Thanh Long said the study and completion of institutions in the field is crucial.

To ensure the synchronous implementation of the work, the Government has issued a decree guiding the building of national criteria on monitoring the law enforcement, he said, adding this is an important tool to access the execution.

Participants emphasised the need to specify the responsibility of ministries and agencies in law enforcement monitoring, as well as regulations on coordination among and participation of organisations and individuals in this work.

Another legal document with higher legal values is needed to make law enforcement supervision promote its role in the social life and be implemented easily in all agencies and organisations in the political system, they said.

According to Dr. Tran Van Dat, head of the MoJ’s Department for General Affairs on Legislative Development, the participation of the entire society in the work plays an important role in enhancing the efficiency of State management and ensuring that law is enforced in a strict and uniform way.

He stressed the need to mobilise the participation of organisations and individuals as currently, this complex work is mainly carried out by State agencies.-VNA
