On the occasion, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung cabled greetings to President of the US Senate Joe Biden and Speaker of the US House of Representatives John Boehner.
The same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh extended his congratulations to US Secretary of State John Kerry.
Vietnam and the US normalised relations in 1995. They established bilateral comprehensive partnership last year.-VNA
