On the occasion of the 2013 Lunar New Year, President Truong Tan Sang visited the homes of several writers and scientists on February 8.
At the homes of writers Huu Thinh and Vu Tu Nam, Sang spoke highly of the role writers play on the cultural front. He expressed his belief that writers will continue to contribute to the country’s renewal and development.
Sang also called on the youngest Vietnamese professor of mathematics, PhD Phung Ho Hai, who is Vice Director of the Vietnam Institute of Mathematics. Hai has chosen to come back to work in Vietnam after completing his study abroad.
On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and Vice Chairmen Uong Chu Luu and Huynh Ngoc Son met with the staff of the NA Office and NA agencies to wish them a happy new year.
Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education also made New Year visits to several outstanding artists and scientists in Hanoi.-VNA
