A delegation of leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and Vietnam Fatherland Front on May 18 laid a wreath in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum on the occasion of the 122nd anniversary of his birth.

Prominent at the ceremony were Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Huynh Dam.

Former Party General Secretaries Le Kha Phieu, Nong Duc Manh, former State President Tran Duc Luong, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An, former President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Pham The Duyet and other senior leaders and revolutionary veterans also joined the delegation.

Also on May 18, a delegation of Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Public Security officials visited Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and laid a wreath in tribute to the nation’s beloved leader.

On the occasion, the Presidential Office’s Party Committee held a ceremony to present Party membership badges to six senior officials of the office.

President Truong Tan Sang conferred a 30-year Party membership badge on Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan.

Doan expressed her happiness at receiving the noble award, asking Party members to continue to try their best to unite to build a strong Party and contribute to national construction and defence.

In commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh, an exhibition displaying paintings and sculptures of Uncle Ho was held at Ho Chi Minh Museum in the central province of Thua Thien Hue on May 18.

The exhibition includes 220 works of art created by Colonel Le Duy Ung, a disabled war veteran.-VNA
