Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan received visiting Secretary of the Cuban Council of State Homero Acosta on October 16 in Hanoi.

During the reception, the Vice President expressed her delight at remarkable achievements Cuba has made in its cause of national construction, especially since the Cuban Communist Party’s sixth Congress, despite numerous difficulties and challenges.

She noted that Vietnam has just commemorated President Fidel Castro’s visit to the liberated areas in southern Vietnam 40 years ago, which demonstrates the close ties between the two nations, expressing her belief that their friendship and cooperation will grow closer and better.

For his part, the Secretary of Cuban Council said his visit aims to implement agreements reached by the two sides’ high-ranking leaders on experience sharing, particularly between the two legislatures. He affirmed that the relationship between the two countries has stood the test of time and will remain firm forever.

The same day, Politburo member and Standing member of Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Le Hong Anh also greeted the head of the Cuban Council of State.

The Cuban guest said the Communist Party of Vietnam’s experiences in leading the country are very useful for Cuba .

The two sides agreed to further boost the relations between the two parties, states, and peoples in the time to come.-VNA
