The heritage left by V.L. Lenin has been and will continue to be one of the political and ideological foundations of all activities the Party, State and Vietnamese people undertake.

The remark was made by To Huy Rua, Politburo member and member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), at the end of a national scientific seminar on the great Russian leader’s heritage and Vietnam ’s renovation process.

The seminar, held in Hanoi on April 16 by the Ho Chi Minh National Politics and Administration Institute, is one of the activities celebrating the 140th birthday of Lenin (April 22, 1870).

At present, the whole Party and people are actively undertaking a number of important tasks in preparation for local party congresses and the 11th national party congress, said Rua, who is also Head of the CPVCC Information and Education Commission and Chairman of the CPVCC Theoretical Council.

Speeches and ideas raised at the seminar are a manifestation of high consensus on the great value of Lenin’s heritage, Rua said, while affirming the huge contributions made by the leader to the development and protection of Marxism.

Thus, it is vital to continue studying and applying this ideological and theoretical heritage to the country’s renovation process, Rua stressed.

Also, he pointed out that it is obligatory to fight against misguided ideologies and protect the transparency of Marxist-Leninism.

Lenin is regarded as a leader of the proletarian revolution and a great leader of the world’s working class, Institute Director Professor-Doctor Le Huu Nghia told seminar participants. He added that the seminar is a chance to express deep gratitude and respect for Lenin, who made inestimable contributions to the struggle for national independence and freedom, and for liberation from repression and inequality./.
