Lion Air ends search for crashed Boeing 737’s second black box
Indonesia’s Lion Air announced on January 3 that the carrier had ended its search for the second black box voice recorder of its Boeing 737 Max jet which crashed into the Java Sea on October 29, killing all 189 people aboard.

Lion Air Group spokesman Danang Mandala said that the search using the offshore supply ship MPV Everest had ended at 23:59 of December 29 (local time).
The group spent 38 billion rupiad (2.6 million USD) on the search.
Lion Air’s Boeing 737 MAX aircraft plunged into the Java Sea 13 minutes after take-off from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang city on October 29. All 189 people on board were killed.
