The Ministry of Finance has published a list of 600 businesses up and down the country who still owed large amounts of taxes to the Government until June 30.

According to the ministry’s official dispatch No. 9901/BTC-TCT, these enterprises have either accrued the largest amounts of unpaid taxes in a locality or have failed to pay their taxes within the 121-day period, despite notifications from tax agencies.

As many as 200 enterprises from Hanoi are on the list, with some owing more than 370 billion VND (16.9 million USD) in unpaid taxes.

The names of the firms will be published in the media, while a number of measures will be rolled out to reclaim the unpaid taxes, including freezing their assets and declaring their receipts invalid, the dispatch said.

The Ministry of Finance also called upon heads of provincial and municipal Tax Departments to use coercive measures to reclaim the unpaid taxes in accordance with the Law on Tax Management and report the outcomes to the ministry by July 30.-VNA
